We’re trusted with world-leading materials testing laboratories with providing advanced high pressure testing systems and autoclaves with integral high pressure agitation and mixing systems.

Allowing finer control of the temperature gradient throughout the vessel and ensuring the temperature of the device under test (DUT) remains within a tightly specified tolerance band, throughout the entire test period. To establish an even distribution of mixed particles within the test media, for chemical mixing, blending or environmental simulation.

Designed to improve the heat transfer of the test media by forced convection; reducing the time required to heat/ cool the media and improving the efficiency of the heating/ cooling system. Performance and efficiency of the agitation or mixing system design can be proven using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD); ensuring temperature or particle distribution satisfies requirements prior to manufacture.

KW Designed Solutions has a range of designed and developed high pressure agitation systems on offer, with various types of high pressure testing vessels; each of them bespoke to ensure the customer’s exacting requirements.

Benefits

  • A cost-effective way to replicate accurate turbid environmental conditions for subsea simulation testing
  • Dramatically improves the heat transfer rate; reducing the time taken to heat/ cool the test media and reducing the temperature gradient across the test media. This ensures the device under test (DUT) is evenly subjected to the same temperature
  • Improves the efficiency of heating and cooling systems by reducing power consumption
  • Integration removes the need for using expensive lower specified agitators which are not specifically designed to suit the testing requirements
  • Provides a highly-efficient method of promoting chemical reactions in pressurised reactor vessels and autoclaves

Applications and Customer Uses

Pressure testing vessels and HPHT autoclaves with integrated agitation are a common choice with customers who work within the subsea and materials research sectors.

Mixing and fluid stirring applications improve the heating/ cooling efficiency within test systems and create an even temperature distribution of test media within the vessel and test platform.

Designed uniquely for customers who manufacture subsea equipment; our agitation system allows the creation of an ideal subsea testing environment. We can create an even distribution of sand and silt throughout the vessel, whilst conducting wet-mate electrical connector testing (mate/ demate functionality). This added functionality has vastly improved the realism of testing platforms; enabling them to meet the most stringent testing requirements and demands.

Our high temperature, NACE compliant agitation systems enhance testing conditions, whilst also operating at high pressure and high temperature in the most hostile and corrosive environments, including autoclaves supplied to clients in materials research laboratories performing ASTM G-38 type Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) tests in Sour Gas H2S.
