The purpose of this high pressure testing system is to subject the customers manufactured components to both hydrostatic and hyperbaric pressure at a controlled rate.
Silverwell Energy has designed and developed an electronically and surface operated gas lift technology called Digital Intelligent Artificial Lift (D.I.A.L). This technology has been HALT qualified and independently verified to recognised API standards by external laboratories. The Pressure Testing System being produced by KW Designed Solutions allows ongoing production testing of the D.I.A.L units at Silverwell’s Houston based facility.
KW Designed Solutions engaged with the Silverwell engineers to fully understand their testing requirements and offered a system consisting of a 10Ksi pressure vessel with a Ø215mm by 4m bore, utilising the KW breech lock closure that allows rapid access to the vessel for test component change over. The vessel incorporates multiple ports and a dual seal plug design, allowing independent pressurisation of an API 5CT tubing sample and the vessel annulus up to 10Ksi. This allows active operational testing of the D.I.A.L system whilst under hyperbaric loading, giving the client the capability to check all operating parameters of their product before it leaves their facility.
KW Designed Solutions also designed and manufactured a Dual Line Manual Pressure Control System with fill and drain functionality, including, integrated water tank and data logging capabilities. The full system is placed into a compact safety enclosure which incorporates an easy access door, internal support tooling and a one tonne lifting system all designed and built by KW Designed Solutions.
The Silverwell Energy D.I.A.L system is an in-well gas lift system that overcomes the current design and operational limitations of existing side-pocket mandrels and valves. D.I.A.L units are run in the completion string and a single TEC cable enables communication with up to 15 D.I.A.L units.
