High Pressure Simulation Testing System for Researching Decommissioning Technology
This gas booster skid is part of a complex high pressure simulation testing system, designed and manufactured for the research and development of a transformative well plugging and abandonment technology.
A new disruptive oilfield technology provider Clearwell Technology, based in Aberdeen, UK, worked closely with our engineers together in designing this high pressure system in order to prove the next generation decommissioning technology will operate safely and as expected, in typical wellbore conditions.
The high pressure system includes a bolted closure 400 bar (5,800 psi) hyperbaric test chamber with multiple ports and penetrations, operating between 0°C to 200°C. The system’s gas booster module includes separate gas circuits for charging, maintaining, storing and controlling test times and gas flows.
KW Designed Solutions has also been commissioned with the design and manufacture of a much larger hyperbaric pressure testing chamber. This new system will replicate a full-scale oil and gas wellbore environment, enabling prototype testing in various temperatures and inclinations as well as at higher pressures.
The 530 bar (7,687 psi) hyperbaric pressure testing chamber, with customer-specific ports and penetrations will interface with the existing gas booster skid system.
This larger high pressure testing chamber will have a safe and Quick-Access Manual Chock Closure system and access platform. The platform will incorporate the vessel tilting system which will allow the chamber to be tilted up to 45° from vertical in a single direction.
