FAT/ R&D on subsea electrical connectors

Wet mate electrical connectors supplied to the subsea sector for power, control and communications must undergo comprehensive testing to prove their robustness and reliability, for use in the most severe of operating environments.

This breech lock closure pressure vessel along with its multi-functional features, allows the customer to simulate in-service operating environments by creating a realistic testing platform and providing industry standard testing conditions.

A pressure testing facility with heating, cooling, mate/ de-mate, agitation and tilting functions. Designed for loading and unloading of the pressure vessel being carried out in the horizontal plane, using a quick-acting breech thread closure.

Programmable for mate/ de-mate profiles (speed and distance), simultaneous pressure and temperature profile testing between the minimum and maximum operating parameters.

This pressure vessel has the ability to tilt 90° from horizontal home to vertical (top position), then tilt 180° back through the horizontal home to vertical (bottom position).

A bespoke designed magnetic glandless drive enables sand and silt turbid agitation, whilst the DUT mate/ de-mate is being carried out. The drive design also allows quick and easy maintenance; assisting in the cleaning regime of the sand/ silt.
